Happy Monday and a New Look!

October 19, 2015

So, I have new looks all around!

I changed my personal blog, my photography blog, and my etsy shop.  I'm really enjoying all the newness.

I did some shoots this weekend.

Ate out too much...

drove too much...

Rushed through some self timer family photos because I couldn't get my camera remote to work.

My shoot load is going down the next two weeks because of Baylor homecoming and Halloween and I'm really excited for the break...as much as I love all of my loyal clients.  I'm excited for GREEN and GOLD, costumes, and lots of fall fun!

Happy Monday

Up To - Friday Edition

October 16, 2015

It's Friday.  And, I'm so SO glad.  I have been so busy lately.  Busy on almost every front.

I have an etsy shop (Emily Powell Designs) and business is going really well.  These are my orders from the past week and a half.  So fun and a lot of work but I really, REALLY enjoy it!  I love getting custom orders because I really get to be creative and think outside the box. (Since writing the draft for this post I've had two more orders)  You can always email me at Emily.Powell@ymail for total custom orders. (Total custom orders are $12 a pop).

I also am a photographer on the side.  (Christian.Wife.Mom.Homeschool teacher.Photographer.Graphic Designer.)  I wear many hats.  I did 4 shoots last weekend, 5 shoots this weekend, and the coming weekend (starting today) I have 4 (as of now).  I post most of my shoots here, eventually, or you can find "Emily Powell Photography" on Facebook.

Georgia is up to her normal cute things.  She's in this classical music phase and I'll be the first to admit I find it a bit funny.  It started with her love of The Nutcracker, then spilled over to Fantasia, then to these apps she has that play classical music while she colors (look up "Hug and Dug" in the app store!)  Now, she just pulls up the apps and doesn't play them and just lays her iPad on the floor while she plays with other toys.  She used it the other day in the car while she was tired.  Pulled up the app, music came on, she closed her eyes, and quickly fell asleep.  It was the funniest thing.

Random life pictures from my phone:

{Cute mug from a friend - BEARS!}

 {Hiding with her iPad - TACO TUESDAY!}

{Cat purse - BFF}

 {You get higher than daddy - Day date}

 {New toy - Cool kid at gymnastics}

I've been trying to make sure I get my big camera out so I can take pictures of my first little love.

We played outside one day and collected acorns for a craft we still haven't done yet.  Then, we went to eat sweet treats at a local bakery. (Eyes unedited - just really good lighting)

We went to the Houston Arboretum the other day for a couple of photoshoots.  Snapped some of Georgia trying to get as close as possible to the turtles.

Also, a few other notable things that happened this week.  Georgia can read two sight words all the time, "the" and "that" (along with Georgia, mom, dad, Emma, Ella, Eva, Zoe, Jesus, and God).  And a few others but not consistently.  She also sounded out her first word on the first day blending sounds.  "Sam".  So proud of my smart 4 year old.  I'm emphasizing blending right now over sight words so we'll see how it goes.

We're ending our friday with family movie night.  Hope G picks something good!

Another One Down

March 23, 2015

Another weekend down as we inch our way closer to summer break.  Pleeeease get here soon!  We have some what gotten back into the routine post Spring Break but it was a hard week.

I had a few Etsy orders but I also made some free printables just because.  Here is the link so you can get to them and get instructions on how to download them.  Go HERE!

We have still had a lot of rain but it starting to get farther between down pours so we can enjoy the sun a bit more.  The bottom right are our onions and potatoes growing!  And, a little video of my G just for fun.

We've also added a few pets to our house this week.  Four chicks (Fireworks, Kimsley, Ella, and Lovie) and a bunny (Emma) in addition to our dog and cat.

Emma exploring her new home.

Georgia wore green for St. Patrick's Day...which at nearly 30 years old I just looked up why we celebrate it in the first place.  Never too old to learn something new.

We also had fun at the super crowded children's museum and Georgia hoarded all the play food.

What made this week HARD was that we did our Daniel Fast finally.  This is not a diet but fasting specifically for prayer purposes.  Going off of what Daniel ate in the Bible you can only eat fruits and veggies (nuts and beans too) and only drink water.  No sweeteners AT ALL!  I'm not the best eater so this was a real struggle for me.  Lots of meals that looked pretty but fell pretty flat with me and left me super unsatisfied.  We finished on Saturday night and ate burgers for lunch the next day!  We felt victorious.  I also took the time to add to my blessings jar that is in our master bedroom.

On Friday Georgia started soccer.  Hopefully she will come out of her sports shell a bit more...if not, ehh...

On Saturday Jonathan's faculty and staff played the Harlem Globetrotters (retired players) as a school fund raiser.  It was pretty darn funny.  I will say Jonathan was not in the game for long.  He did have the largest section of cheerleaders though...kids and adults alike ;)

And my Easter and Bluebonnet minis are this coming weekend.  I have a mere 17 booked.  Lord help me...this should be fun!

I hope everyone is loving their MONDAY!

New Printables

September 25, 2014

Didn't know if I should add these to my etsy shop or not.  Contact me if you're interested in any of these.  (Obviously without the watermark)  I was playing around with some things I wanted to put in my own home and came up with all of these.
