First favorite is we finally have internet again after it being pretty in and out yesterday.
Monday
Monday
I had a doctor appointment and luckily my mom was able to keep both kids (a favorite) so I could actually have a full thought and ask my doctor some questions. More on that later.
Tuesday
We celebrated my mom's birthday at her house a day early and Georgia had a private gym lesson since she would be missing class on Friday. I also had the kids legitimately run laps in the front yard because we knew a tropical storm was going to hit. I needed them to get some energy out before it was too late.
Wednesday
Not Jonathan's favorite day. The area surrounding his school has had A LOT of construction the past year or so. Because of this construction his school (which was built in the 70s and has never flooded before) is now prone to flooding. It is super frustrating. Rain was starting to come and although his school and surrounding roads DID not flood on Wednesday the parents were flipping out. It's never a favorite to know your husband is dealing with parents who DO NOT understand that he's not the one making the call as to whether or not the school is closed. And in the end everyone was fine and they flipped out a day early.
Thursday
Because of Tropical Storm Imelda we had the day off of school. (Which is always fun when Jonathan has off of school). Not fun was the time they called it. 6:45. We had already decided that Georgia was NOT going to school before we got notice. Montgomery County City officials said all their offices would be closed and Conroe PD was saying to stay off the roads LONG before they canceled school. Also not a favorite was that we received about 10 inches of rain in about an hour and a half. We were starting to have some standing water around the house but once Jonathan was able to cut open (our NEVER used gate on the side of the house) the water drained off with in seconds. It was being clogged up by old leaves. This was the view off of our screened in patio. Mind you our whole yard wasn't retaining water. We just live on a hill and live in a very LONG ranch style home so sometimes the water pools in areas. It drains and has never been in the house. (which is why we have river rock. Keeps the water moving and not a lot grows in those spots)
About a mile from our house was some pretty severe flooding but praise God our neighborhood stayed dried. After the early morning passed the rain slowed to a sprinkle, the water all drained, and the storm avoided Conroe. Jonathan's school wasn't so lucky. It flooded for the second time in 4 months. It is a huge headache for him because his main job is the building. They literally JUST finished the remodel from the previous flood and now they're starting all over.
Friday
Georgia is still out of school so it's been a slow morning for us. Unfortunately, Jonathan is up at school assessing the damage. Poor guy.
