Laundry Room = Finished

June 16, 2010

Over spring break Jonathan and I installed Ikea shelving in our laundry room but I still wanted to spruce the area up a bit.

So, here is the area after Ikea but before sprucing.

Now, when you walk in you see this.  Jonathan hung another shelf to add storage and a way to hide all the mechanics of the washer and dryer.  I added some fabric with upholstery tacks (my mom hemmed the fabric for me since I don't sew)

The other half of our laundry room is our pantry.  When you walk in the pantry is to the left.  Our preacher last sunday talked about remembering and thanking God for all of your blessings...even in the good times when we tend to forget how good we actually have it.  So, I created this chalkboard from an old picture frame (10 cents at a garage sale), wrote John 1:16 on it, and now Jonathan and I write our blessings on the board so we can see them everyday.

Our laundry room redo is now done.  All for about 100$ too!

very nice! I really like the fabric idea. I don't sew either but just recently used HeatnBond...amazing! I posted about it if you want details. It's a no-sewing girl's dream! Love the DIY chalkboard. We have a "blessings" white board in our kitchen that we love. What a fabulous pantry area!

I love the little shelf you made over the washer and dryer..thats a great use of space! And of course the words "Wash, Dry, Fold, Repeat" just makes it! Nice touch!
