Barrett - 2.5

April 28, 2022

Dusting off the cobwebs on this blogspot for the sake of documenting the baby of the family turning two and a half. He's all baby y'all. Partially because of his personality to do what ever the heck he wants and not caring but also partially because he's our last baby and we're hold on for dear life to every shred of baby-ness he has left. We just adore every little bit of him.

Two months ago was the last I weighed and measured him. So, back in February he was 38 pounds (99%) and 37.25 in (93%). He's a big BIG boy. He has a big head, big hands, thick legs, chubby ankles, and we are here for ALL OF IT! His eyes are still basically black and his hair is a dirty blond with just a hint of red sprinkled in there. (These pictures are the worst because they were taken on a bright green swing as the sun was reflecting off of it so any chance of accurate color is long gone)

You probably talk the least of your siblings and I'll have your speech evaluation done in September maybe. I'm interested to see what they have to say. You have way more words and talk way more than what the "milestone" says you should so I'm not worried about you at all...you just drop off the first syllable of words so we've got to get that takes care of.

You are so funny and head strong. You have zero interest in potty training even though you can hold it for hours. We're working on counting, your favorite color is red and you don't really care about the other colors, you're learning your shapes. Your favorite is an octagon. You know some of your letters and know that a "B" is your letter.

You love being outside. You ride a two wheel bike (with pedals and no training wheels) really well. You love to play with Nerf Guns, dirt, dump trucks, and race cars. You love anything that goes! You also adore animals. Especially dogs. I've really never seen anything like it. You are obsessed with our dog Penny but in public we are always running behind you say, "Sorry, can he pet your dog" because any dog you see you just have to go to it.

Barrett, we love you so much and I could never have enough space or enough words to describe how special you are to us. You are just the little amount of spice we needed in our lives and I'm so glad God gave you to us. We're so lucky to get to watch you grow up.

Barrett - Two Years

October 26, 2021

Our sweet Baby Bear is TWO today!  I just cannot believe how the time has flown by. Barrett, we just love you so much.

I don't know your exact weight. You are somewhere around 32 pounds (90%) and 36.5in (97%) Slightly bigger than Milam at this age. You have a lot of words that we know and have your phrases that you say but you aren't super articulate just yet. We understand a lot of what you say but also DON'T understand a lot that you say. Ha!

You've dabbled in colors and counting. Nothing has really stuck yet. You love spending time playing with your brother and playing hot wheels. (Which is probably why you talk less...Milam only had me to play with while sister was at school) You hate singing. You're good at your sorter puzzles and LOVE your little balance bike. You especially love trying to do skids and wheelies. You've even raced in a few BMX races and have several trophies.

You love animals. LOVE them so much. Penny is your absolute favorite. You also love anything that. goes but especially buses.

You are sleeping about 12 hours at night and taking a 2-3 hour nap during the day.  Bedtime is from 7-7:30 and nap time is 12 or 12:30.  You are in 2t or 3t and size 8 shoes.

Barrett, you are the surprise you didn't know we needed in our life. We just adore you...even little rotten bit!

Barrett - 23 Months

September 27, 2021

Yesterday Barrett hit 23 months and I literally cannot believe it. He has a stuffy nose and is teething with his 2 year molars. (He literally pointed to his back gums and said "bobo" so I know it's his teeth - smart boy).  I always say (and think) he's pure sugar and 100% rotten. The true baby of the family. He loves his daddy, buses, and puppies. We just love him. (And, he hates having his picture taken so these are literally the best I got to remember him at 23 months.) If looks could kill...

Barrett - 20 Months

June 27, 2021

Wow. We really are inching our way to two aren't we, Bear Bear. It is sad and exciting all at the same time. Barrett, you are so funny, so cute, so spicy, and so smart. All of us can literally not even stand how cute you are. You are talking more and more and adding more and more words to your vocabulary.  You love riding your balance bike, all things that go, still obsessed with your dad,  and want to be a big kid just like your brother and sister.  Stay little forever, my baby bear. I love you so much.

Barrett - 19 months

June 1, 2021

We've flown past 18 months. We're down hill to two years and I can't stand it. Barrett gets smarter and smarter every day and more and more confident on his balance bike. He's an amazing little guy and we just adore him.

(This post is super late because blogger wouldn't let me add photos on May 26th for some reason. So, BearBear I didn't forget about you!)

You are for sure the baby of the family and we laugh at every naughty thing you do even though we shouldn't but you're so dang cute and so funny that we just can't help it. You are still obsessed with Dada and watch Milam like a hawk. You copy everything that he does...for better or worse. You are obsessed with buses. You think any large vehicle is a bus and bus is probably my favorite word you say. Most of your best words start with the letter B.

Barrett, we love you so much and think you're just the cutest, funniest, best little baby boy ever!

Barrett - 18 Months

April 26, 2021

This is hitting me hard that our little Baby Bear is half way to two. An entire year and a half. I cannot believe it.

I don't know his exact stats. I'll work on those and update later. He's in 24m - 2t clothes, 7.5 shoe, and weights about 30ish pounds. He's in a 5 or 6 diaper. He has 12 teeth and his bottom canines should be in soonish.

(30.6 pounds - 98% 33.5 in - 85%)

He sleeps about 12 hours each night. Usually 7:30-7:30 and takes a good post lunch nap for. 2-3 hours.

He can say about 33 words but doesn't talk a ton. Follows almost all my commands. I'm fairly certain he understands about 95% of what we tell him.

He's a sweet little guy but is not a good teether. At all. He loves his Dada but give out "love" (hugs)  to anyone he knows.

He's still quite passionate and likes hitting and throwing and occasionally biting. He's a typical third child/baby of the family and just so sweet but so rotten and we cannot get enough.

Barrett - 17 Months

March 26, 2021

You don't tell me that my baby is one month closer to 18 months. I'm not going to hear of it. I just cannot believe our little baby nugget is getting bigger everyday. Exciting and sad all at the same time.

He's up to about 26 words now...if you're me and can understand all his little baby jabber. I've been keeping a list on my phone because I was worried he wasn't talking enough. He jabbers but doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. I've heard him make L sounds and T sounds so I don't think he'll have speech issues like Milam but who knows. (At 4 Milam has now mastered all his sounds...not always conversationally but he's working really hard!) He barks and moos too. He understands almost everything I say to him and follows most of the commands I ask of him. Blows my mind that we're here already.

LOVES hugs and affection, giving "love" and snuggles, Penny, all dogs and squirrels, and any animal with fur. My other kids like animals, Milam probably the least, but oh my his love of animals is over the top. He waves hi and bye to EVERYONE. His big brown eyes and cute fat hands waving are irresistible. He loves to sit and read by himself or with anyone. He's my little (green) veggie eater. Is not super picky and enjoys meal times. Dinner is his favorite and drinking less milk before and after bed and more food at meals.

He dislikes being told no but has the best pout face you have ever seen. He can turn it on at the drop of a hat. He also hits and occasionally bites. A real angel ;) But actually my angel face that I'm 100% obsessed with. I can't help myself. He also likes to run in the street (always with me running right behind him...he's gotten fast!) Doesn't like having his diaper changed or getting dressed. Loves being naked.

Barrett, we love you so much. Even when you slap us in the face.

Barrett - 16 Months

February 26, 2021

Our little baby Bear is 16 months old and growing and changing faster than I can keep up with or approve of. I feel like he's had the funniest nicknames of the three. Baby Bear, Bear Bear, Nugget, Baby Nugz, my Sweet Prince, Angel Baby, Angel Face. I called him Angel Face ALL the time until he started getting his molars now we mainly describe him as "Spicy".

So, he now has 12 teeth and that includes his four one year molars...praise the Lord! Getting those four teeth was painful on all of us. Obviously he was not into doing pictures today but that is so him. Never wants to stay still. He "talks" a lot but we mostly have no idea what he's saying. He signs, "please" all the time and has his own set of words that we understand.

He is literally the cutest little doll face and I could just eat him up. Ugh, love him!

Barrett - 15 Months

January 27, 2021

Our littlest guy turned 15 months yesterday!

He is 27.8 pounds (97.5%) and 32 in (87%) which is almost exactly the same size as his older two siblings. He wears a 6 or 7 in shoes and is in 24 month or 2t clothes. He can say momma, dada, Georgia, Milam, Nana, Nanny, Yia Yia, and that. He says, "Dat!" all day long and points his little fat finger. He knows several animal sounds and knows a lot of his body parts. Just today I noticed that one edge of his top molar has come in (tooth 9) and I can see another one coming through. Finally. He was sick for the first time this month. It was awful. Only a fever but he did not handle it well. At all.

He is just the sweetest little love and it hurts my heart with how big he is looking recently. He got his hair cut this month with clippers. He's only ever had it cut with scissors and he looks SO BIG. He's sleeping good at night and napping well. He just started riding his little balance bike and it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. You are still obsessed with Penny and your dad.

Barrett, we love you so much and although we didn't exactly plan on you we cannot imagine our life without you. You are the most adorable little nugget and I love getting to be your mom.

Barrett - 13 months

December 1, 2020

Our little angel face is now fully past a year. He is 13 whole months (as of thanksgiving day) and we just love him so so much! We could literally just eat him up. I did these casual little posts for my other two kids until they turned two so that's what I plan to do with our little Barrett Bear. We are all just so obsessed with him.

He has the sweetest little personality and loves to hug and snuggle. He easily goes to other people like Nana and Meme or his workers in the nursery but his dad has become his favorite snuggle buddy. He's learned to run and climb, has 8 teeth, will eat mostly anything, has fully switched to whole milk and sippy cups, and understands a lot of speech and commands. He's so smart and has recently taken to coloring. It's really cute. He gets really nervous around the Christmas tree and it's so cute. He looks so proud when he works up the courage to go over and touch it. He dances (bobs up and down or shakes his head) when he hears music and it's really cute. He's 96% for head size, height, and weights (almost 26lbs). He's sleeping really great right now so that's nice. 11.5 -12 hours at night with a 2-3 hour nap at noon.

My baby, it is so exciting to watch you grow. Everyday I know you wake up just a little bit bigger than the day before and it breaks my heart just a little bit.

Barrett is O N E

October 26, 2020

How on earth did our little angel baby turn an entire year old. We just love you so much. You are so funny and so sweet. You love to snuggle and lounge. You've just recently starting climbing which makes me extremely tired. You love your siblings and just last week became obsessed with your dad.

You are a pretty good eater, are on half formula half milk and are still on the two nap schedule so your eating schedule is the same that it has been for awhile now. You got a new tooth yesterday (#7) during your first nap but normally you take a long nap (1.5-2 hours) first and a short nap second (1hr). You sleep about 12 hours every night.

You know so many tricks. You blow kisses and raspberries, say hi and bye, wave, moo like a cow, bark like a dog, show me where your hair is and so much more. You know a lot of things that you can't say. For example, "can you find a ball and take it to dad?" You can follow simple commands like that. We've been having so much fun teaching you so many new things.

I haven't been to your one year appointment yet but I'm guessing you weigh around 25 pounds. You're a big boy. I'll have to update once I have your stats. You got your first real haircut on Tuesday and you look so cute.

We got you a new tiny little balance bike for your birthday and you're just so proud of it. You make this sill sound and your whole body shudders with pride. It is so cute and so funny. You can use your stacking rings and other little toys like that and love your touch and feel books.

You have the sweetest temperament and the best little smile. You love keeping up with Georgia and Milam and pretending that you're so big. Experiencing all your firsts has been just as exciting as it was with your older siblings. We just love you so much Barrett Bear and are so glad God gave you to us!

Barrett - 11 Months

September 28, 2020

I honestly cannot believe our little baby nugget (Nugz for short...hahaha!) is ELEVEN months old. How in the world did that happen?! As a third, I knew the timeline would feel sped up but goodness, someone must have hit fast forward because it feels like just yesterday we were still in sleepless nights (Thank the good Lord we are past that!)

I don't know your weight or height. I'll work on that for your one year post. You're walking all over the place, switch daily from two naps to one nap, sleep 12 hours a night typically, say momma, dadda, nana, bye, hi, ball, bike, bite and sign more and all done. You try and bark like a dog. Its real wimpy and cute. You're a pretty good eater and have a really sweet personality most of the time. Some days are fussier than others and some days you don't sleep like I would want you to but you're pretty easy. You still just have your same 6 teeth and don't look to me like you're teething but I could be wrong. You seem to like your dad and I equally and really love your nana too. You love hugs and being held or being outside. Love you Angel face!

Barrett - 10 Months

August 27, 2020

Goodness gracious, what a month bittiest bear! Full on walking, surgery, hurricane Laura.

You are the cutest, happiest, squishiest baby and we are all obsessed with you.

I put you back on two naps a day. You still have the same little 6 teeth. You are in 18 month clothes and are 95% for weight (23.5lbs) and height. You laugh when you wear shoes.

You say dada, momma, bye bye, bi (bike), ba (ball), My (Milam), Gi (Georgia), dis (this), and hi. Dis and bye bye are our favorites. So cute.

Barrett - Nine Month

July 25, 2020

Oh my Baby Bear, so much has changed this month for you! I don't even know where to start! You are still just the happiest little nugget but have picked up a fiery side the past few days.
You are 23 pounds (93% - exactly the same as Milam. Georgia was 22).  You are about 30.5 inches tall (99.3% - Milam was 29.5 and Georgia was 29). You are in 18 month clothes and I have no clue on shoes because you rarely wear them #covidkid. You have six teeth. Four on top and two on the bottom. You've been a fairly easy teether thus far.

You now can walk but are not a walker. You can do about 5-6 steps at a time if forced to do so but don't really choose to do it. Right now, it is still much faster for you to crawl.

You will eat anything.  Anything! You are interested in bottles and baby food again. For a bit when all your teeth were coming in getting you to eat anything liquid or mashed was a legit chore but now you're back to normal.

You can wave hi and bye. You try to say bye and ball. You say momma, dada, and nana all the time. You have associations on those words. You've said GiGi (Georgia) once. You sign all done and shake your head no. You are so stinking smart and I just love it.
You just switched to one nap a day just this week so it's still pretty tricky and you're sleeping 12-13 hours at night. You typically do bottle, breakfast, lunch, bottle to sleep. Nap. Wake up and eat bottle. Snack and dinner. Bottle to sleep. He wakes up from 7:30-8:30 and I try to get his nap around 12:30 and he'll nap 2-3 hours.

Barrett - Eight Months

June 26, 2020

I can't believe we're already to 8 months even though your newborn days seem like a lifetime ago. So much has happened in the world since you've been born.
You sleep about 12 hours every night. Usually 7:30 to 7:30. You nap around 10:00 and 3:00. You've been talking really long naps here lately that I've been having to wake you up from. You're eating your 7oz bottles, eat your meals about an hour after you wake up, and you eat basically any and everything.
I don't know any of your stats but you seem pretty big. I think your next check up is at 9 months. We bumped you to size four diapers and you're still in 12 month clothes. No clue on shoes because you don't really wear them. I would guess 21 pounds but I don't really know.

You love to touch foreheads. I know that's an odd thing to say so I need to get it on video. If I put my head to your head then you give us the biggest smile and just melt into the sweetest hug. It is literally the best and cutest thing ever and just makes us want to freeze you at this exact age forever. We're obsessed.
You crawl really fast and can stand on your own but don't do it very often. You pull up all the time and on everything which means you fall all the time and bump your head several times a day. You say dada the most and sometimes say momma. You make the B sound sometimes. You growl and screech like a dinosaur. You still have a sweet and happy disposition but do not like teething. You're handling it ok but I do give you Tylenol or Motrin sometimes if you're just not acting like yourself. You have three teeth. Two bottom and one top. Hopefully the other top one will come it because you look real silly with only one top tooth.
You are just the cutest, sweetest, little guy and we love you so much! Can't wait to see what comes next in your little life!
