New Job!

June 22, 2010

Today is an exciting day!  I signed my contract with a private school!  I teach elementary art by the way.  It was a really hard decision to make since I loved my current job but the offer was just too good to pass up.  A family friend offered me the job.  No interview...I didn't apply...she just offered it to me so I took it.

This job is part time (so less pay) and I will work from 11:35-3:05.  I'm really excited about that.  The main reason I took this job is so I could work-part time- and have kids (some day) at the same time while Jonathan is still in grad school and eventually working on his doctorate (he wants to eventually be a professor).  I know we don't have kids now but the chances of me finding a job this laid back, with great hours, with me on salary when we actually do have kids is really a long shot so I just decided to go ahead and take it.

It was one of those things I just prayed and prayed about...I really didn't know what to do but then I just felt it was the right decision to make for Jonathan and I.

We're both very excited about it :)

OH congrats!! It's actually really hard to find part time work with salary so I think you made the best choice! And if it's going to be a while until you have kids you could even get a just for fun part time job too, like at a coffee shop or something.
