The Blessing Box

August 10, 2010

EL is doing a "Blessing Box" link up.  I really need to do this to get out of my rut that this rough week has put me in.

1) I've had some resolution this week and I'm just so thankful for answered prayers.  I always seem to take for granted that God is good and God answers prayers.

2) I am so thankful for a wonderful husband.  He's had some conflicts at work because he's a coach and they recently got a new head coach that is requiring them to work on Sundays.  My husband REFUSED to work on a Sunday because it is against the 4th commandment.  For this they bumped him from varsity football to middle school football but he didn't care.  (The head coach was sure to tell him this was a "demotion")  Jonathan coaches to pay for grad school.  He isn't a career coach.  As long as he gets his stipend...we don't care.  AND since he coaches middle school now he gets to spend more time with me!  Once Jonathan got to the middle school one of the coaches came up to him and told him that him moving to the middle school was an answer to a prayer.  This coach had written on the prayer board at church that he wanted a new coach and the next week he got Jonathan.  It was meant to be.

3) I am so excited to be working part time!  It hasn't really sunk in yet that I will not be working ALL DAY!  I will be working from around 12 - 3.  Since we mainly just live off of Jonathan's pay check we don't really have to change anything either which is nice!

4)  Whenever it is raining (which it is not at the moment) I think about how blessed we are to live in a warm, safe home.  Many people don't have that simple luxury so I often try to be thankful for just the "normal" that Jonathan and I have in our life.

5)  My car!  I drive a 2010 VW CC.  It was a splurge for us but it was the first car that I ever got to pick out and my first new car!  I just LOVE it!

Hey, I found your blog through Extraordinary Love's linky & Im a new follower! I almost teared up reading the last part of your husband's coaching situation, because isn't it amazing how things work out like that? Something 'not so good' at the time was the answer to someone else's prayer. Definitely meant to be!!
And love your car!!!! It's so cute!
