Christmas Decor!

December 10, 2010

This is one of my favorite posts!  I look forward to it all year...honestly :)

My decor starts from the curb.

We use clear LED lights so we can save on our energy bill.  We changed our porch lights to green light bulbs and I bought super cute peppermint lollipops to line the drive way.  We also have clear LED snowflakes above the porch that I love.

Here is inside our porch.  I made the wreath (I'm horrible at wreath making) and added the garland and paper lanterns.  The sign inside the wreath is a chalk board and I wrote, "Merry Christmas" on it.

From the porch you move into the entry way.

This is the entry into the kitchen...where I hung the mistletoe.

The only Christmas thing in the kitchen is this dish towel...I think it's pretty cute though!

Here is our living room.

The next stop is the dining room.  The table ended up a bit more "country" than I had wanted but I still like it.  I never use red when I'm decorating for Christmas...the one year I did (this year) I'm not a fan.  I'm just going to stick to white with gold and silver from now on.

Our last stop is our memory/travel tree in the front of the house.

Our Spain 2010 ornament.  (Even though I wrote 2011.  I had just written my due date on something and forgot...oops.  I'll change that next year.)

Our Portugal 2010 ornament.

I made Jonathan and I ornaments.  Mine is Baylor 08 and his are HBU 08 and Lamar 2011.

Thanks for stopping by!

Such great decor! Love the mantel. The wreath over the mirror is such a glittery touch! Love it. We bought lit candy canes to line our sidewalk and I love them. Just like your driveway decor...it adds such a fun touch! (And off from Christmas...but I love your front door....gorgeous color!)

Thanks for linking up!

Hi Emily! Sure looks cute around there. I LOVE your idea of a travel / memory tree. Might have to copy that one ;-). Oh, and for your question about whether I made or bought my birch candles, I bought them. I'm thinking I got them at Michaels, but I'm not positive. I've had them for ages! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! ~Kristin from Windy Poplars

We use led lights on the outside as well... so far we really like them, much brighter color!

This doesn't have to with Christmas decorations, but I love how you have the plates hung on the wall... looks really nice!
