Our Long Weekend

February 21, 2011

For today's Miscellaneous Monday (link up HERE) I'm featuring our long, President's Day, weekend!

Friday:
Jonathan had to help out at a track meet so I was home alone for awhile...boo!  I kicked off the holiday weekend by going on a long walk with the pups.  We really enjoyed the warmer weather :)  I've been walking every day for about 2 weeks.  I hope to not miss many days in the next 12 weeks!

When Jonathan got home we went to get ice cream!  YUMMY!  Baby needs calcium!  Then, we went to Home♥Goods :)

Saturday:
We were on breakfast duty for Disciple Now at our church.  My brother and sister in law were hosting 10th grade girls at their house so we were assigned to bring over breakfast.  Needless to say we brought them the breakfast of champions.

Next, we had lunch with Rachel at Cafe Express...YUM!

Then, we had my dad and step mom over for dinner.  Turkey burgers and sweet potato fries...a staple at our house.

Sunday:
We went to church of course...then to lunch (during which my 3 year old nephew stuck his had down the back of his pants and announced very loudly to the entire table that he needed to go "poo poo diarrhea".  Friends having boys...just get ready!).  When we got home we ordered the crib and mattress.  I picked a white Jenny Lind because I pretty much don't like any crib under 1000$ and that's just not in the budget so I went with simple and classic.  (Thank you mom and Aaron for paying for G's crib and mattress!)  Plus, I'm not a fan of matchy nursery sets (or bedroom sets for that matter).  I prefer the "came together over time" look so I think I will like the Jenny Lind with the antique armoire, antique vanity (that will be the changing table), and my antique side table.  Don't you worry, as soon as it comes in and is put together I'll post pictures.  The bedding will be finished during spring break!

I also spent A LOT of time organizing the massive amount of baby clothes my sister in law gave me.  What I'm going to do after my baby shower...I have no clue.  This kid has way TOO MUCH already at 28 weeks!

Monday:
Ahh!  A day to relax!

My plans today include:
straighten the house a bit
maybe do some lesson plans
work on the nursery maybe
not go to work :)

Thanks for the visit at my blog. In response to your question, I love working part time. I work 2 1/2 days a week and my daughter goes to a wonderful family daycare on those days. It's nice to have a balance of keeping up with my career and having automatic time out of the house with my friends at work every week, and also having lots time at home. I think my daughter benefits from having lots of time with me as well as a really nice social experience at daycare.

Sorry for the long comment... But if part time is an option for you I definitely recommend it! And, I love the name Georgia. So beautiful and classic.

I'm your newest follower :)

Oh, so glad to see there are those that still like the Jenny Lind look. That is what I had with both my children, they are now 34 and 31 years old and I still have the bed and it's in wonderful shape.

Enjoy your day and wishing for you a beautiful week!
