What I LOVE Wednesday!  Link up HERE!

1.  I'm REALLY loving this play set by Cedar Works!  I mean, who wouldn't?  I'm seeing something similar in Georgia's future :)

2.  We FINALLY decided on a babymoon.  Details will come tomorrow!

3.  I have a 3 day weekend!  No school monday!  YAY!

4.  I'm ESPECIALLY loving the ridiculousness of this article.  It's called "The Good Wife's Guide" from a 1955 issue of Good Housekeeping.  A co worker brought it to work today and we were DYING laughing!

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables.

During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

Be happy to see him.

Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.

Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.

Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

A good wife always knows her place.

I mean, I'm all about being a good wife...but there has to be some kind of balance.

And THAT is what I am LOVING this wednesday!

wow that playset is gorgeous!

and I have a book called "The Good Wife Guide" that I got as a wedding shower gag gift that has many of the same ridiculous "ideas" in there. It's crazy they were totally serious when writing those!

You have GOT to be kidding me! I know that this is how it was (thinking June Cleaver), but just seeing it written in black & white...whoa!
I'm the only female at my place of employment and when I showed this to all the guys, they wanted me to print it out for them.
They said they were going home & hanging them on their fridges. One guy even said he was going to buy a really pretty frame and hang his on their wall! HA!
We'll see how that flies....
Too funny! Thanks for the laugh today.

I'm not a wife yet but even when I am, this is way too much. I'm so thankful that times have changed. I love the PARTERSHIP that my boyfriend and I have!

WOW! That's really hilarious. Just when I thought one couldn't get worse, it did. But you know, that was the 50's! Glad we're past all that.

Well, some of those suggestions are over-the-top, but I actually think some of those tidbits were good advice - such as the one about not presenting him with problems when he just gets home, and having dinner ready if possible. It's not like if you don't do those things you are a bad wife, but I think they are good ideas for ways we can be better servants to our husbands. I know being a better servant is something I've been working on lately.

That playhouse would be amazing!
