30 Weeks

March 7, 2011

How far along?  30 weeks (just 10 left...holy cow!)

Baby size:  Any where from 15.5 to 17 inches.  Nearly 3 lbs.  (Head of cabbage)

Total weight gain/loss:  +9

Maternity clothes?  A mix.  More regular clothes these days since the weather is warmer...I can wear my pre pregnancy skirts and dresses.

Sleep:  I've been sleeping REALLY hard lately.  I usually wake up once to use the restroom but I'm not sure if that's really needed or if I've just conditioned my body at this point.  Sleep hasn't really been an issue the entire pregnancy but since I only work in the afternoons it's not like I have to get up early either.

Best moment this week:  Ultrasound for sure.  I posted all of the pictures HERE in case you missed that post.

Movement:  She is still crazy busy, causing me occasional pain, looks like an alien at times, and LOVES my right side.  She is nearly always curled up or kicking near my right ribs...head down.

Food cravings:  Always ice water.

What I miss:  Baths.  I switched to showers since I can hardly get out of the tub.

What I am looking forward to:  Baby showers!  (mainly)

Milestones:  Her eyesight is continuing to develop.  Which we were able to see on the 3D.  The tech commented that she had never seen a baby with her eyes open that much.  Which to me means that she will probably never sleep...wonderful!

Pregnancy Symptoms:  Some BH contractions, occasional ab pain, sore and tired leg muscles sometimes.  Thirsty all the time.

Stretch Marks:  Not one!

Belly button:  Still hanging on as an innie.  I may be mourning the loss of the belly button here shortly :(

Pregnancy conversation with my nephews:
  • As my sister in law tried to explain to my 2 year old nephew, Caleb that "there is a baby in Aunt Emmy's tummy he responded by saying, "Aunt Emmy eat baby?"
  • Again, we try to tell Caleb there is a baby in my tummy so he walks up to me and tries to lift up my shirt...I guess he thought she was just hiding under my clothes...I DIED laughing!
  • We turned on the 3D/4D ultrasound video and Caleb sat down on the floor.  Then he starts waving his hands in front of his face saying, "no no no".  Yes, the ultrasound video frightened the poor child.
  • My 4 year old nephew, Zakary was playing Angry Birds on his dad's Iphone.  So, I asked him to tell me how to play (yes, I've heard of it but no, I had not played it before).  Zakary explains to me that the birds kill the pigs because the pigs steal the bird's eggs.  Then he told me, "Well, you would be angry too if a pig stole Georgia".  Yes, Zakary that is true.  I would be angry if a pig stole my baby.

You still look great! And even if the belly button disappears, it'll only be gone for barely two months. Then you'll have your baby and your belly button... :)
(It's what I keep telling myself! Mine is also hanging by a thread!)

That would be pretty devestating if a pig ate your baby..ROFL! That was too cute! I'm wondering if I'm going to have to switch to taking showers myself..it is really getting hard for me to get out of the tub as well!
