Georgia, Oh Georgia

August 19, 2011

My sweet Georgie,

I love that you are sleeping through the night on a consistent basis but your naps have just got to settle down.  Up until THIS week I could literally set my watch (if I wore one) to your nap schedule.

Wake up - Eat
Stay awake for 1.5 hours
Sleep for 1 hour
Wake up - Eat
Stay awake for 1.5 hours
Sleep for 1 hour
Wake up - Eat
Stay awake for 1.5 hours
Sleep for 3 hours
Wake up - Eat
Stay awake for 1.5 hours
Sleep for 1 hour
Wake up - Eat
Stay awake for 2 hours
Eat
Down for the night

So, you took 6 hours worth of naps a day...every day...ALWAYS!

Then, this week you started rearranging your 6 hours.  You would still take 6 hours worth of naps but I just didn't know how I would get them.

Today you took 3 hours worth of naps!  What?!  In one day you just suddenly cut it in half!?  Usually if I need to run errands I wait until you're napping then I put you in your crib and get ready to leave.  After about 30 minutes (once you're nice and sound asleep) I'll scoop you up and put you in your car seat and we're good to go.  You typically sleep the entire time we're gone...you just can't resist the car and the car seat.  And, if that wasn't when your 3 hour nap was supposed to be then it would become your long nap and you would just replace the others as hour long naps but still give me 6 hours.  Well, not today.  The first time I did it you woke up and cried all the way to your daddy's school to visit him.  The second time we scooped you up to go out to eat...you should have slept the entire time because you don't "cat nap".  To me, anything less than an hour is a cat nap.  The moment we walked in the restaurant you were awake...only after a 30 minute nap.  WHAT?  You never take 30 minute naps!

I'm pretty sure it's just a phase and you're not unhappy while you're awake so it's all ok.  Had we stayed home all day and I hadn't disturbed you I'm certain you would have slept your normal schedule but since when are you a light sleeper?  You always sleep at restaurant and when we're out and about.  Being busy makes you sleepy.

...but you were all smiles today like normal so I can't really complain.

Love you sweet girl!

Love that you call her "Georgie". She's definitely keeping you on your toes! Hope she gets back to her schedule again soon for you (and your sanity)! :)

I'll take three hours worth of naps, ha! I hope it's just a phase for you...not so much over here. Unless it's a three week and counting phase??
