Georgia - 10 Months

March 17, 2012

My sweet Georgia,

Today you are 10 months old.  I cannot believe we are now in the double digits!

Here is what you have been up to lately.
(I feel like I'm forgetting so much)

You started using a straw – 3.4.12
You can now splash in the tub on purpose
Said "I love you" (or something like it) - 3.5.12
You discovered how to drink water from the tub – 3.3.12
You stick your tongue out on purpose – 3.3.12
You can now turn the pages on a book
signed “more” - 3.6.12
signed “all done” - 3.9.12
first day off of baby food 3.8.12

You can run (kind of)

Also, we started "dabbling" in cloth diapers this month.  Here you are wearing your first GroVia diaper.  Pretty cute!

First time dad changed cloth...not so successful ;)

You also love to "love" your dolls and stuffed animals.  You are always hugging them and cuddling with them or as we say, "loving" them.  You now have a favorite stuffed animal, "Violet" and a favorite blanky.  (Such a girl!)

You seem to really enjoy music.  You love your little piano and have enjoyed singing and dancing for quite some time.  The other day you danced to the sound of the dryer.  It was really cute.

You can also use all 8 of your chompers to eat corn on the cob.  Precious!

I have no idea what your stats are.  I would guess somewhere around 22 lbs.

You are in size 3 diapers.  Your shoe size in a 4 wide.  You are in 6-12 month clothes, 9-12, or sometimes even 12-18.

Your schedule is still the same as last month and you are still going strong with one nap a day.  Typically, you take a 2.5 - 3 hour nap from about 12-3 BUT as I type this you are in your room talking away after only sleeping 1.5 hours.  This just happens sometimes.

You're still VERY prone to bad habits.  VERY PRONE.  So, yesterday we were out and about and you only got one 30 minute cat nap all day meaning that when we put you down for your nap today you were likely to get up early because that is what you did yesterday.  I never set your routine.  You set it yourself and when you get forced out of it, it takes a while to get you back to your norm.  You've always been like that.  You do not deal well with change...just like your dad.

Your regular bedtime is anywhere from 7:30 - 8.  Oddly enough, you tend to sleep the best when you fall asleep at 7:45.  You sleep anywhere from 11.5 - 13 hours a night but lately it's been rounding out to 12.  We took your night light out of your room and in general you've slept much better without it.  (I still hear you in your room right now though making a liar out of me that you've been napping so well lately.)  Sleep cycle transitions tend to be bad for you too.  45 min - 1 hour after you go down for the night you almost always cry out for a bit before you totally settle in for the night. (You've always done that) and the same thing happens at your nap at 45 min - 1 hour and 15 minutes.  You almost always stir awake or talk or cry and then fall back asleep.

A strange habit you've developed over the past week or so is talking yourself to sleep.  When we put you in your crib at night we feed you a bottle while we rock you and you almost always fall asleep but as soon as you hit the crib you are awake and talking for about 5-15 minutes before you're actually asleep.  So, I usually get you in bed by 7:20 or 7:25 so that you'll be asleep anywhere from 7:30-7:45.

Your eating has been all over the place this month.  In general you're done with baby food.  You're not picky at all but you can be particular and hate being in your high chair so feeding you is a chore to say the least.  Your 3 meals a day are without a doubt the worst part of my day.  There are a million and one things a day I rather do than feed you.  You make a huge mess, waste a ton of food, and sometimes eat really well and other times it seems like you hardly ate a thing.  Frustrates me to no end!

You take a bottle when you get up, one when you go down for your nap, another once you get up from your nap, a sippy cup of formula or juice with dinner, and the last bottle is when you go to bed at night.  You don't drink that much formula anymore though.  Usually about 5 oz each bottle which for you is about 3 less per bottle than you used to...which combined with your eating habits always has me worried that you aren't eating enough.

Obviously, we were NOT in the mood for pictures today.  That is pretty much been your mood much of the day.  I think you're teething again...ugh!  And this time it's your molars which I wouldn't be too excited about if I were you either!

I love you so much sweet girl!  This has been such a fun month :)

Double digits, I can't believe it!! Happy 10 Months, G!

I am dying over her little flower sandals - they are so cute! And I think it's funny she wears a 4 wide because Liam is a narrow!

Good for you for teaching her to sign - I have not been consistent enough with it, so Liam has no idea what I'm doing when I will occasionally show it to him. Oh well :)

Good to know I'm not the only one who hates feeding time. Harper is the same way! Lately she has been wasting food left and right.

She is such a doll! That's awesome that she has started doing some of the baby signs. It's so much fun to see them actually do it and know what it means! I can't believe she wears a Size 4 shoe! That girl has some big feet! Happy 10 Months to her. I can't believe our girls are SO close to a year!
