Weekend Rewind!

April 30, 2012

I'm linking up with Tami today

for the FIRST ever

Friday:

I had a pretty blah Friday.  I was pretty overly dramatic about it but I got over it so let's move on.

We grocery shopped and relaxed at home.  Super chill.

Saturday:

Jonathan and I stayed in the kitchen much of the day Saturday.  I practiced the smash cake and cupcakes for Georgia's birthday party.  I have to admit I did a pretty good job on the cupcakes.

The cake I never finished because I was just making it to let Georgia practice smashing.  I made organic peach cupcakes from scratch with organic cream cheese icing and dried sliced pineapples to make flowers.  I'm still thinking of adding some type of peach filling since it didn't taste like peach at all...I'm not sure.  The cake I baked in a tomato can to get just the right size and shape.  It was a hit with her!  A huge hit!  I cannot wait until her cake smash session!

We also had friends come over for our Supper Club (which is usually on Sundays).  Jonathan made Dr. Pepper and BBQ sauce slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches and baked potatoes and homemade vanilla ice cream.

Then, we let the littles play outside.  Holden and Georgia play so well together and he's 6 months older than Georgia.  It's really nice being able to have people over that are in the exact same place in life that you are.  I just wish they lived closer!

(By the way:  I'm currently listening to "How Great Thou Art" on Spotify sung by Carrie Underwood.  It's A-Mazing!  Go listen to it now!  I always listen to hymns at night.  Helps me relax at the end of the day.)

Before our friends arrived I insisted that Jonathan take a picture of Georgia and I since I feel like we never get our picture together.  I should have fixed my hair : /

Sunday:

We went to church as usual and taught our little 3 year olds.

Came home for nap time.

(Which lasted all of ONE hour due to little G waking up with a terrible cough and congestion.  Ugh...these allergies have got to let up here in Texas!  I don't want allergies to turn into a sinus infection!)

Then, we headed to my grandmother's house for a little family get together.

We had a good weekend!  Did you?

I am SO impressed with those cupcakes Emily! They seriously look like they were made by a professional. I know Georgia's peach party is going to be just perfect! I think the picture of the two of you is cute! I feel the same way- I have thousands and thousands of pictures of E, and even quite a few of her and Jesse, but only like 10 of the two of us! Thanks for linking up! :)
