On our way to Gulf Shores we stayed one night near Baton Rouge at Nottoway Plantation. I cannot say enough good things about this place! It is beautiful, the food is amazing, the pool is awesome, the grounds are great for exploring, the rooms are super plush and cozy...it was just great all around.
AND, it was used in the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog. So, we told Georgia the entire time we were going to go stay at Tiana's Palace and she was thrilled! I even had Tiana (aka: me) leave her a gift on her bed in the room. She loved it.
The building we stayed in had four rooms. Two upstairs and two down. The two up shared a sitting room and two patios. It was nice because we were able to put G down and then hang out in the sitting room (none of the other rooms were rented in our building).
I would stay there again in a heart beat. The only downside was that we were only there one night.
We had such an amazing stay! Hopefully we get to go back at some point!

Georgia on a plantation..that sounds soooo southern!! Looks like a beautiful place!
What a beautiful place! When we move back to Houston, I want to visit some of the places y'all have traveled in the Texas/Gulf area! Oh, and that photo of Georgia leaning over the ledge of the bridge is wonderful!
