Weekend Top Ten

August 31, 2020

1. Our power came back on super late Thursday night. A little before midnight. When it's 102 A/C is much appreciated.

2. Jonathan's mom offered to keep Milam for the weekend. Jonathan left super early Friday morning and I was driving back home so it was nice to only have two kids to keep up with while unpacking...after packing in the dark :/ Georgia is pretending to eat Barrett's feet.

3. My mom took G to gym, made us dinner, and then picked G up from gym and let her spend the night so the last part of Friday and first part of Saturday I only had Barrett which was nice because I rarely get him all to myself.

4. Barrett is so happy and so silly right now. I'm assuming he was a lot more uncomfortable than we were thinking because now he is just so happy...even more happy than he normally is/was.

5. We/me got to go back to church for the first time in a LONG time. J and M were gone but I'll still count it as a blessing. My Christian life has been in a huge lull since quarantine. I feel very blessed but just seem to be floundering spiritually. (Georgia put my phone on a strange color setting. I took this pic before I realized.) We went on Saturday night, which we had never done before, and I was a fan. We got pizza after. Yum.

6. They texted me this picture during church to show me that Barrett had stopped crying. My covid kid was not OK with being dropped off at the nursery. The fed him Puffs and held him. His feet literally never hit the floor. #rotten Gah y'all. Look at that precious, sad little face though. I could eat him up.

7. Getting selfies from Jonathan during his bike trip with my brother and dad. So funny. They went to Palo Duro Canyon...in August. I'm glad they made it out alive.

8. Finding selfies on my phone of Georgia. Ha.

9. Jonathan made it home safe and sound on Sunday afternoon. After he landed he went and picked up Milam from his parents. It was so nice to have everyone home again after a weekend of us all being scattered since even Georgia spent most of her time at my mom's house.

10. Tonight (Sunday night), Barrett went to bed SO EASY. The past few nights he had been fighting me some (Jonathan normally puts him to bed) and sure enough, Jonathan comes home and gets him right to sleep without a peep. What a little stinker...missed his Daddy. Georgia asked me the other day why Barrett is so happy all the time. I told her it's because he's the baby and the third and lives in the same neighborhood as his grandparents so he always has someone right there to get him, he's never alone - always has a source of comfort or entertainment. There is LOTS of love aimed right at him. It's a cozy spot to be. (marker from the surgeon will NOT come off his leg!)
