A crafty few days...

January 27, 2010

I really liked having this framed next to the front door but since it was a wedding gift I didn't get to pick out the colors so it's never been a favorite in my house. I decided to do something about it this weekend.

I covered up the parts I didn't like with scrap book paper...

and put it in a white distressed frame. Price - 0$!

Then I arranged some frames I painted white above the bench. It just needed something bigger but it took me awhile to figure out what.

So, now the entry looks like this! We still need a new light though...
I added some old black shelfs above our big comfy chair and put some white birds on them. I love the white birds!
And, if you remember this post I had a picture of some brass candle holders...well, I painted them black and put them in the entry way.

Here is how Jonathan and I's day started out...we saw furniture at a garage sale we happened to drive by. We got both pieces for 40$ so we couldn't pass them up. Jonathan and I both have a thing for mid century modern furniture and Jonathan has a thing for record players so I couldn't say no! We have big plans for both! I'll keep you posted!

Everything looks great. Happy to see someone else besides myself enjoys painting that ugly brass. LOL. Looking forward to seeing what you do to the furniture.
