Random Acts Of Kindness

There has been a lot of talk on Facebook and in the blog world about:

Random Acts of Kindness

Now, in all honesty, I could do way better in this department.  As in, I feel like I NEVER do any R.A.of K.  Does everyone do this type of thing all the time and I'm just totally self-centered?

These are some of the things I do on the regular that I think some people take for granted:
  • I'm always friendly with people who are waiting on me and try not to be short even if I'm angry about something.  A smile and a "please" or "thank-you" can get you far in life.
  • Common courtesy.  Hold the door open for the person behind you.  Open to door for someone.
  • In the car...when someone is trying to merge, let them.  When the light is red, don't block a driveway to a business or gas station.
  • Always donate to Goodwill.
  • Sponsor a child through Compassion International
  • Always write thank you notes
In an effort to try to be a better person, here are some ideas:
  • Leave nice notes for co-workers letting them know why you enjoy working with them.  I've actually done this but I could do it more often.
  • Cook meals for friends who are sick or overly busy.
  • Leave a note of appreciation for your mailman
  • Send someone you love flowers, "just because"
  • Volunteer!
  • Leave holiday cookies for you neighbors
  • Send a "care package" to someone who needs one
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.  Ephesians 4:32

I like the mailman one. We forget that these peeps are REAL people and need that word of encouragement and appreciation that we all need =) Hope you are feeling great with little GE!

That is so true! We can totally do little things like this that would take almost no effort, but it could make such a huge difference in someone's day.

Thank you for your sweet comment :-) I love your blog header! So sweet :-)

You've got good ideas! Whenever I'm not a poor college student I'm going to sponsor a child! I love your pregnancy pictures, by the way! :)

These are great ideas! Especially leaving the mailman a note, never would have thought of this one. Don't worry, you aren't the only one lacking in the random acts of kindness department. Life gets so busy and crazy sometimes that you forget about that sort of thing. Definitely something I need to work on as well.

I also love the mailman one. I never think about how that mail gets there even in the rain and freezing weather. Your ideas are awesome, I may have to steal a couple. :)
