Today is GO TEXAN day here in Houston.  (Tara blogged about it today as well)  This day kicks off the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo.  The rodeo not only has animals and cowboys but it also has the 2nd largest fair in North America and HUGE concerts every night.  I've seen John Mayer and Maroon 5 there just to name a few.  (Which, I'm not even sure if we're going this year because there is nobody playing that I want to see in the slightest)  It's a big deal here.  Just yesterday, I was stopped on the highway by a caravan of horses and wagons...no joke.  This is a normal thing here too, once a year.  At school today the kids get to be out of uniform and dress western.  I broke out my boots!  I'm thinking I look like a whale but this dress went best with my boots.

My mom's friends' daughter designed my baby shower invitations and they are so cute!  My mom emailed me the other day so I could get a sneak peak.  Thanks Jamie!

And, I got ANOTHER blog award this week.  Thank you Melissa Jo!

First I fill out the survey:
1. Who/What inspires you?
I don't know if anybody or anything really inspires me.  It depends on the situation and how you are using the word "inspire".  I've never been the type to have a "hero" and I don't really look up to anyone I don't think...but, just to throw around some all encompassing inspiration...God, my husband and baby, my parents, art, being outside, House Beautiful magazine, HGTV, other bloggers...I could go on.

2. What is your favorite season and why?
Spring or Fall.  Texas gets REALLY hot so the summers here are pretty ridiculous.  And, I pretty much hate winter.  So, spring or fall because I like breezy, moderate temperatures.

3. What are you looking most forward to this year?
The day Georgia is born.

4. If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?
I would probably just have all of my journals published.  I started writing in a journal when I was 7 all the way until now...which, I blog instead of write in an actual journal.

5. What is your greatest passion?
Ok, these questions are really hard!  My greatest passion?!  The only way I could really apply this was to think about what I COULD NOT live without.  And, the only thing I could not live without is Jonathan, baby Georgia, and my family.  I know that may be a boring answer but it's honest.

6. If you could change one thing about your life or yourself, what would it be.
Oh gosh!  This one is even harder!  I don't want to change anything about my life really...I'm pretty content over all.  And, something to change about myself...I don't really feel like getting into self evaluation right now.  I'll be vain and say nothing...although there are about a dozen things.

7. Lastly, what is your favorite novel?
Easy...Jane Eyre.

Then, I tag people:  {I picked my newest followers}

Do you ever have a moment where you think, "Did they really just say that?!"
So, Jonathan and I were on a walk around the neighborhood the other day and a random guy standing in front of his house yelled out, "hey, when are you due?".  I turned around and smiled and said, "May."  This happens all the time.  Then, he asked the next normal question, "what are you having?"  I smiled again and said, "girl!" to which he responded, "ugh...I'm with you man on wanting boys...I've got 3 myself."  Um...really?!  First of all, my husband never implied that he was unhappy with having a girl because he isn't and neither am I.  Second, do you have zero filter dude?  You can think what ever you want but just don't yell out to strangers that you totally think it sucks that they're having a girl.  And, oddly enough this isn't really the first time this has happened.  Some of my high school boys a few months ago asked me if the baby was a boy or girl and when I said girl they immediately asked if I was disappointed and wished it was a boy!  And, they were being serious.  RUDE and no!  Don't get me wrong, I've had a million and one people overly excited about us having a girl but I just can't get over the few who are so dumb about the whole boy or girl thing.  The ONLY thing Jonathan and I cared about was that our baby was healthy.  All her organs are functioning, she's very active, and she is measuring right where she should be...what else really matters?  Whether we had all boys or end up having all girls I will never be disappointed with the gift of a healthy child.   So there, mean man who lives down the street from us!

Happy Friday Everyone!

You look great! But I totally understand about feeling like a whale...why do you think I've had no bump pictures for a week or two? lol! I've taken them, I just am not going to post them! And that neighbor was SO rude! I've gotten that alot here, but I figured that was just a middle eastern thing, I would have never guessed that it would happen in the US!

cute invites! and that's one nice thing about not knowing the gender -- people have nothing to remark on, expect of course, how they're SO certain of one or the other gender I'm having. I'm sure people will have some sort of remarks though, even after the baby is born.

The remarks I usually get are "You're only 7 months?!" or "Are you having twins?" Umm, how is that EVER appropriate to say, even if I was having twins? Ugh, people. That being said, you don't look like a whale at all. :]

Ug, the one thing I couldn't stand about pregnancy was that for some reason people have no filter whatsoever when talking to pregnant women. Apparently something about being pregnant gives people a green light to say all kinds of inappropriate things... During my next pregnancy I'm gonna start calling people out on their rude comments!

Have a good weekend!

Haha! We have a fair here every year when all of the schools close for the first day... it's also pretty common to get stuck behind a tractor on the freeway, hear about cows in the road on the traffic report, and have visitor who aren't from the area wonder what "that smell is"... we have more cows that people! :)

You look great!

I love the invites! They are very cute. I do not like the summers here in AZ either! The winter here is probably the best weather for me here!
