Toddler Play

October 16, 2012

As much as it pains me to say this, Georgia is a toddler.  Yes, she is still a baby and yes, she will ALWAYS be my baby but in addition to being a baby she is a toddler (BLAH!)

I try to give her a lot of independent play (such a mom/teacher thing to say).  She is very good at entertaining herself but I also like to be very intentional with her as well.  She is a SPONGE and soaks up everything so I know I need to take advantage of that.

Here are some of the things I do with Georgia.

We do all different types of Sensory Play.  And, I might add I loath the term "sensory play" but at this point I don't know what else to call it.  It just sounds so dorky and technical.  : /  I equally dislike "sensory bin" but again, what else do I call them?  Pretty much everything can be a learning experience when your child is this age.  I have pictures of most of them but not all.

Wow! You do a ton of structured play! That's my plan for once the baby is born. Nursing time will be structured play time so everyone is happy!

Love that she climbed into her water table!

Thanks so much for sharing some ideas! Emerson is so bored with all of her toys so I'm willing to try anything and everything to keep her entertained for more than 3 seconds! :)
