Big Bend 2018 - Day 4

April 5, 2018

On day four we packed up and headed out to Marfa to visit the museums.  We went to the Chinati Foundation.  Would would have liked to have looked around more but Milam isn't really the art museum type.  Ha.
We took a different route home and it was super scenic.
We drove across the Pecos River High Bridge which was really cool and really nerve wracking and we ended up at The J and P Bar and Grill which Jonathan wanted to go to originally but our route on the way to West Texas didn't have us going past it.  It was total dumb luck we ended up there because we didn't realize our route home was different.  We saw it on the Food Network (or the like) and it did not disappoint.  It is a total hole in the wall, cigarette smoke and all, but was delicious.  I had a wrap and it was the best wrap I've ever had.  For real.  J and G got burgers and fun fact: they process all their own meat in the back so everything they have is 100% homemade (she did tell me they buy their bread because they don't have the space to let that much bread rise) and super fresh.
What we missed and WILL go back to see/do:

El Cosimo
Buns N' Roses
More of the museums
Planet Marfa
Food Shark
Marfa Burrito
Pizza Foundation
Do more in Alpine
Do more in Big Bend
McDonald Observatory
Eat at LaVenture at Hotel St. George
Monohans Sand Dunes

All in all we had a GREAT time in west Texas and would love to go back really really soon!  I wish we lived closer and it wasn't such a LONG drive.
