Our Town - Date Night

April 9, 2010

Welcome visitors from Kelly's Korner!

I took this picture while we were driving in the houston area. It is a very wooded area and I like that. The trees and plants are beautiful and the hold tons of hidden greenbelts (paved trails). So, although there are TONS of restaurants and shops here...not to mention A LOT of neighborhoods they are all concealed by the trees!

Tonight we tried SmashBurger! Jonathan really wanted a burger tonight so off to SmashBurger we went. It was AMAZING!

Of course, we went to Tutti Frutti to get yogurt afterwards because it was just next door. And, while Tutti Frutti is good it is no Pinkberry. We don't have a Pinkberry here in the H-Town area but I have written a letter to Pinkberry before telling them all the reasons why we need one here. They even wrote back! (& the person who wrote me back was originally from Houston) They said they are considering it!

After all of the burgers and yogurt we had to go drop off our recycling. We sort ours by paper, plastic, glass, and metal. Once we've recycled all our items we barely even have any trash. Our city trash comes 2 times a week and we have a HUGE city garbage can...we put our trash out maybe twice a month because we have so little that can't be recycled...granted, we don't have kids so maybe that's why but still...I think we're doing a great job!

Thanks for the sweet comment, but I totally swiped my pics from some guy on flickr! :D
I had a couple, but not nearly enough.

I love that your town has all of those trees! Usually when you think of Texas you think of tumbleweeds and desert! My brother lives in Georgetown, Tx about 30 min. north of Austin!

I have to tell you that when I clicked on your blog from my email and saw that picture of you and your friends posing with that cRaZy statue I started laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair!
Too funny! I'm gonna be a blog follower now! :)

I've never actually had pinkberry. Kind of silly since I grew up in California which is where it's from. But my excuse is that I don't live there anymore, and whenever I head back home its winter, which isn't normally ice cream season
