Wednesday = LOVE

February 9, 2011

This month
I love February!  It's short and sweet not to mention my favorite holiday is Valentine's Day!  Here are our plans for the big day.  We are actually celebrating on 2 different days.  On Monday, the 14th we are exchanging gifts (I LOVE what I got him...not expensive but he'll LOVE it) and doing dinner at home.  He's cooking a special dinner and I'm making his favorite dessert.  Then, our Valentine's tradition is to go to the MFA Houston's newest art exhibit each year...well on V-day this year they will be in between shows so, we're going on Feb. 20th for their new opening in honor of Valentine's day.  I can't wait.

Donkey Basketball
Have you heard of this?  Well, my husband had not but his school was participating.  He came home and told me and was very confused by the thought of teachers riding donkeys (who wear shoes) while playing basketball.  I IMMEDIATELY told him he had to sign up to play.  I had heard of this already because my 3 year old nephew went to a donkey basketball game once and went crazy over it.  He just thought it was the best thing.  I told Jonathan that Cooper would FLIP over uncle Jonathan (who he adores) riding a donkey and playing basketball.  So, Jonathan being the good sport he is signed up all for little Coop!  We told Cooper about it and he could hardly contain himself he was SO EXCITED!  I was laughing so hard the entire time.  One guy's donkey kept bucking him off...it was hysterical!  Here are some pictures from the big family event!

Glucose test is DONE
Now, I don't have the results (pray it's all good) but at least it's over for now!  My mom took me and I didn't pass out!  YAY me!  The nurse told me it's very common for preggers to bring someone with them for the glucose test because passing out or vomiting is very common.  I'm so thankful I didn't do either but I'm also glad I didn't look like a big baby having my mom come with me to get blood drawn.  She said I should know the results in just a few days!  When I got home I rewarded myself with a cupcake :)

Wonderful comments
Who ever knew wearing a long dress in your 26 week picture would result in so many nice comments?!  Thank you all for the lovely boost to my self confidence.

Nursery
We added the mirrors on Monday and I love them.  They were originally black and I've had them since college so it was a free addition to the nursery.  The bird will most likely stay.  The apothecary jar...well, it's floating around the house and is currently in the nursery but will most likely find a new home before G arrives.  The nursery is coming along EXACTLY like I had planned in my head.  I love it!

Diaper Bag
About a week ago I ordered Georgia's diaper bag for the nursery at church.  I figured I would just keep all of her things for the church nursery in one bag since it all has to be labeled.  Also, the items I put in this bag will be the types of things that if they are lost or misplaced it's not that big of a deal since that is bound to happen when you're leaving your child in a place with a bunch of other children who all have the same things.  Anyhow, it's from Land's End and I love it.  I just love Land's End totes to begin with but this one is so cute.  I love the yellow and her monogram turned out great.  I took Jonathan's diaper bag to be monogrammed yesterday.  I'll post pictures when I get it back...don't worry, it's a back pack and not girly in the slightest.

Everything looks great, Em! Erik told me about the donkey basketball game--hilarious! And don't worry, the things on our registries so far are just basics that I decided on sans Erik. I plan on photographically documenting the in-store registering process for all to enjoy. I think picking out china will be his favorite part--SIKE!
