38 Weeks and a Q/A

May 2, 2011

I want to do a Q/A post.  So, leave any questions you want to ask in a comment on this post and I'll answer all the questions in a seperate post.  They can be pregnancy or baby related or just whatever else you want to ask.  So, ask away!

Now, onto my "bump-date"

(um, I look huge in this picture...and in this dress for that matter.  The dress always makes me feel much larger than I actually am.  Plus, I don't like the tummy to head ratio.)

How far along?  38 weeks...oh my.  Am I the only person who reaches 38 weeks and wishes time would SLOW DOWN?!

Baby size:  Nearly 7 lbs and around 19.5 inches (leek)

Total weight gain/loss:  +17 (that could change though.  I'll report back tomorrow)  Everyone always comments on how you can't tell I'm pregnant from behind...so, for your viewing pleasure...a photo from behind (plus Paxton's dog bed).  You're welcome!

Maternity clothes?  A mix...as always.  Right now I'm wearing a non-maternity dress.  And, actually in all the pictures in this post I'm not wearing maternity clothes.

Sleep:  I get tons of sleep

Best moment this week:  I have a Vietnamese student in my pre-k 3 class who just started learning English when he came to our school this year.  The other day the 3 year olds where going crazy over my belly (rubbing, touching, tapping, poking...just breaking down all personal space barriers really) and my little Vietnamese friend came over and said VERY loudly, "It very big!  Baby?"  I cracked up and he stayed intrigued with the belly the rest of the class.  Also, I finished ALL the address labels for Georgia's birth announcements.  One less things to fuss over once she's born.  I wouldn't call all of my OCD tendencies nesting really...just more of me being myself and having tons of energy right now.

Movement:  A ton!  I swear she is going to have huge feet.  If she doesn't I will be shocked!

Food cravings:  None that I can think of right now.

What I miss:  I'm not really sure.  At this point I feel like I've been pregnant forever so I can't really remember.  Oh, but there are a few things I would like to spray paint right now but I can't.

What I am looking forward to:  This NOT ever happening again:  Walking down the aisle at the grocery store a women looks at me and says, "ugh...get out of my way".  Um...RUDE MUCH???  I'm sorry I can't get out of your way as quickly as I used to...I'm 9 months pregnant!

Milestones:  She's fully ready to be born.

Pregnancy Symptoms:  The usual...ligament pains and general pelvic area pain ranging from crampy to piercing.  A few BH contractions every day and the occasional painful contraction.  Hands and feet are both a little swollen...not bad though.  General back pain.  Oh, and PUPPP (yes, that is with 4 P's)...but it is SO much better than last week.  I barely notice it now.  I did have a few people ask what the dr. put me on to make it go away and I just use cortizone 10 and take a claritin once a day.  I saw pretty immediate results.  If you were to look at my tummy now you most likely wouldn't even see it but it still itches.

Stretch Marks:  None.  Fingers crossed that it stays that way for the next 2 weeks.

Belly button:  Still an innie.

Everyday I'm one day closer to meeting Georgia Emiline!

Oh, and remember to leave any and all questions for my upcoming Q/A post!

You definitely don't look pregnant from the back!

Let's see . . .

Did you always want to be a teacher/ how did you decide on the career?

How did you and your hubby meet? (You probably have written about that before, but I always like to hear those stories).

How did you come to know the Lord?

Where do you get all the cute dresses (I love your clothes)?

You look great! And it's such a blessing that you feel so great at 38 weeks. I have a friend that has PUPPP and she has not been able to control the itching. She's tried cortisone cream and lots of other things, so it's awesome that you have been able to control it pretty well.

My question for you would be: What would you do if you had an entire day free and money wasn't a limiting factor?

I always ask that question, but I love seeing what people would do!

Wow! You're lucky to have your pregnancy all in the front.

Do you have a diet/workout program you use?

What excites you most about having a daughter?

Do you have a favorite date you've been on with Jonathan?

She'll be here before you know it!

And people are right...you don't look pregnant from behind!

I can't believe someone was that rude!!! It always amazes me how self-centered some people are in this world. You look beautiful! I hope I look half as good as you when I'm pregnant. And the story about your new kiddo was precious! Gotta love kiddos and their observations!

You are all belly! Time is flyyyying by! I still feel like you just announced your pregnancy like a few weeks ago! lol!

OK, I LOVE Q and A's!
I have a few questions...sorry if you have answered them in previous blog posts...

What's you favorite color scheme or decorating style for a living space?

How many children, God willing, would you and your hubby like to have? Are you interested in adoption?

Where do you buy your art supplies...canvases/paint?

Do you have a coming home outfit picked out for G (I can't remember!)?

Are you a "by the books-baby's gotta have a schedule" type person...or "listen to my baby's cues/demands" type person? (Will probably be easier to answer after actually having a baby, huh? lol)

Is your degree in art? Have you practiced art your whole life?

Where is you dream vacation destination?

What is your favorite thing to do on a saturday with no other plans?

ok, that's enough for now!! ha

You are just the cutest pregnant person EVER!!! :-) I have loved reading your posts each week!!! I hope the end of your pregnancy goes smoothly and I can't wait to see pictures of your sweet little baby soon!!!

You may not be able to answer this until after G is here and you've had some time to "experience" the life change....but has your pregnancy changed your mind about how you want to space future kids apart? Pregnancy plus having a newborn has definitely changed my mind about wanting back to back babies. I can't imagine doing this with a small baby/toddler! I'm thinking I'm going to be spacing them out more than I had originally planned...
