Milam - Four Months

December 22, 2016

I had to buy this onsie for you since I found out I was pregnant on Christmas day last year.  You are without a doubt the best gift I have ever been given.  Such an amazing little miracle and I feel so blessed that you are all mine!

Stats:
You are 17 pounds and 26.5 inches which is 80th and 95th percentiles
Size 3 diapers
6-9 month clothes...mostly.  Some 3-6
(Georgia at this time was 16.5 pounds and 26 inches)

Eating:
You started eating so much more this month.  Like a ton.  You ate 9 oz the other day in one sitting.  It was crazy!  You used to wake up and we were able to change your diaper and then feed you.  Now, we have to feed you as soon as you wake up or you get so upset.  I think it was your three month growth spurt.  You are eating about now 5-6 oz a bottle which I think is more normal.  Before this month you could eat 2 oz and be satisfied.

We also started you on solids just to practice your actual "chewing" skills and learning how to swallow real food but you LOVE food!  You've had rice cereal, banana, and avocado (in that order).  You have chewed on a piece of garlic bread and a rolled up tortilla.  So far the only thing you haven't loved is banana.  You cry if everyone is eating and you aren't.  It is so funny.  You plunge your face towards your spoon and make the cutest little noises while you eat.
Sleep:
You usually take a two hour morning nap and then two more one hour naps (and maybe a short cat nap to hold you over before bed time if you haven't napped well earlier in the day.  Now that you sleep 100% swaddled you do 11-12 uninterrupted hours at night and your naps are a bit more predictable and you're  more predictable at night.  You usually go to bed around 7:30 every night and wake up sometime around 7:30 in the morning.  We still do sleep training with you on occasion but your first night swaddle in months and you did 12 hours straight.  It was wonderful.  You typically stay up 1.5 hours between naps and a solid two hours before bed time.
Milestones:
You could roll over from you back to tummy if you wanted to.  I grab your hand and pull it across your chest and you will instantly flip yourself over but you love to lay on your back and talk and talk and talk so have never once done it by yourself because you really have no reason too.  You jump in your jumper now.  You yell at us.  You are super social and love eye contact.  You want to be included in everything.  You attempt to grab at toys.  You are such a smiley little boy.  You are stingy with your laughs but every few days we can work some out of you.

You aren't nearly as content as you normally are.  I think you are teething.  You also spit up a lot.  We just switched your formula again and I don't think it is helping BUT it doesn't seems to bother you as of right now.
You are the sweetest little baby boy I have ever laid my eyes on and although we had a slightly bumpy start (smooth sailing compared to your sister!) I could always tell you were the most pleasant little guy.  I always tell your dad, "Milam is the kind of baby that makes you want to have more!"

He's got one heck of a holiday wardrobe! And I'm going to need him to come over and give Elias a little pep talk on how this whole sleeping thing is supposed to go!

That onsie is perfect! I think he's starting to look more like Georgia in these photos!
